IN THE MATTER OF declaring surplus items for auction
WHEREAS, Ohio Revised Code Section 505.10(D) requires the board of trustees to adopt a resolution during each calendar year expressing its intent to dispose of surplus, unneeded, obsolete, or unfit personal property through the use of an internet auction; and
WHEREAS, All items being auctioned will be listed on the Refugee-Canyon Joint Fire District’s website and will include a link to the commercial website “Govdeals” hosting the auction; and
WHEREAS, All items will be listed for a minimum of fifteen (15) days, including Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays; and
WHEREAS, All items will be sold as is, with Refugee-Canyon Joint Fire District making no guarantee as to the condition of said items, and with the purchaser being responsible for the removal of said items within ten (10) days following the close of the auction; and
WHEREAS, The purchaser will be required to make payment in full within five (5) days following the close of the auction through Govdeals electronic funds transfer. No property will be released until payment in full has been received by Refugee-Canyon Joint Fire District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Refugee-Canyon Joint Fire District Board of Trustees:
SECTION 1: That we do hereby express the intent and authorize the Fiscal Officer to dispose of surplus, unneeded, obsolete, or unfit personal property by internet-based auction during calendar year 2020.
SECTION 2: That the Fiscal Officer is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement in the name of the Refugee-Canyon Joint Fire District with Govdeals as needed to effectuate the disposal of surplus, unneeded, obsolete, or unfit personal property.
