WHEREAS: This date, March 11, 2021, Trustee Rich Moore moved the adoption of the following Resolution:

WHEREAS: An allegation of workplace discrimination or harassment was previously brought to the attention of the Fire Chief by a Fire District employee; and

WHEREAS: Fire District policy does not tolerate discrimination or harassment by and/or against a Fire District employee; and

WHEREAS: It is necessary to conduct an investigation to determine the facts surrounding the allegation(s) of workplace discrimination and/or harassment; and

WHEREAS: Consistent with R.C. §505.38(A) the Board of Trustees must authorize the Fire Chief to conduct an investigation of personnel;


NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Refugee-Canyon Joint Fire District Board of Trustees:

Fire Chief Clifford L. Mason is hereby authorized to conduct an investigation into the allegations of workplace discrimination and/or harassment and prepare any necessary charges or recommendations to the Board of Trustees for discipline in conformity with R.C. §§733.35 to 733.39.

Trustee Randy Wolf seconded the Motion, and thereupon, the votes in favor of this Resolution were recorded and reflected by the signatures hereto.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that it is hereby found and determined that all formal actions of this Board of Township Trustees concerning and relating to the adoption of this Resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Board, and that all deliberations of this Board and any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in a meeting open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements, including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
