Whereas: In 1974, President Gerald R. Ford authorized EMS Week to celebrate Emergency Medical Services providers and the important work they do in our nation’s communities; and,
Whereas, Communities all across this great nation are celebrating EMS Week May 17th -May 23rd 2020; with this year’s theme being Ready Today. Preparing for Tomorrow; and,
Whereas, The Refugee-Canyon Board of Trustees acknowledge that EMS Week brings together local communities and emergency medical personnel to honor the dedication of those who provide the dayto-day lifesaving services of medicine’s “front line”; and’
Whereas, The Board of Trustees of the Refugee-Canyon Joint Fire District wish to recognize each EMS member of the Refugee-Canyon Joint Fire District who work tirelessly to ensure the residents and visitors of Hebron and Union Township are provided with state of the art emergency and nonemergency health-care in their time of need; and,
Whereas, Especially during this year with the COVID-19 crisis-planning, adapting and responding every day to take care of their citizens and communities, Refugee-Canyon Joint Fire District Board of Trustees seek to recognize the noble calling that makes EMS so vital in our community; and,
Whereas, The Refugee-Canyon Board of Trustees hereby recognize all Fire District EMS employees who selflessly provide emergency medical services 24/7 /365, by responding to the needs of those who may be ill, injured, depressed, suicidal, lonely, unable to care for themselves, and a magnitude of other conditions, known only to them and the EMS workers; and,
Therefore hereby proclaim our most sincere appreciation to each employee for their service to this, community.
