Under the direction of Interim Fire Chief Ryan Wyse, Refugee-Canyon Joint Fire District provides fire and emergency medical services for all of Hebron as well as the majority of Union Township. The Fire Department provides emergency response for approximately 32 square miles, with an approximate population of this area of over 5,000 residents, while also providing automatic aid services for several of our surrounding communities.
The Refugee-Canyon Joint Fire District recruits members that are equally committed and dedicated to the department and to the people of the community. Fire Department personnel strive to sustain a high level of service through exceptional firefighting, emergency medical, specialized rescue, fire prevention, and public education services. Our personnel is dedicated to being the most educated and prepared emergency service providers. This is accomplished through continuous training and education.
In addition to emergency services, fire prevention personnel provide routine fire safety inspections of all industrial, commercial, educational, and multi-family buildings within the district. Our Fire Prevention Division provides specialized services through school programs, fire extinguisher training, children’s safety programs, along with several other public education activities and events.
