Please note there will be a change in your fire and EMS service effective January 01, 2022.
As of January 01, 2022, we will be forced to reduce the number of available fire and EMS personnel on-duty each day. The staff will be reduced from eight personnel per day to four personnel per day. The fire station located at 6265 Lancaster Rd., Hebron, will be closed indefinitely. The fire station on Basin St., in Hebron will remain open.
The reduction in staff and station closure is a direct result of the Union Township fire levy failing twice in 2021. Without the collection of these tax dollars in 2022, our revenue will be reduced by $435,000.00; forcing the reduction in staff and the fire station closure.
We will continue to respond to emergencies, although we will be responding with a smaller workforce. Some areas served by the Refugee-Canyon Joint Fire District may experience a delay in response due to travel time.
To be clear, if you have an emergency, please call 9-1-1.
If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We appreciate the trust you have placed in us and are committed to serving you now and in the future.
