The Union Township Board of Trustees is seeking letters/emails of interest from residents living in the unincorporated portion (outside of the Village of Hebron) of the township who are interested in serving on the Refugee-Canyon Joint Fire District Board of Trustees as a Union Township Board of Trustees appointment.

The five-member board of fire district trustees is the governing body for the Refugee-Canyon Joint Fire District that provides fire protection and emergency medical services throughout Union Township, including the Village of Hebron. The district board employs a full-time fire chief and full-time fiscal officer to administer the district’s day-to-day operations. The fire district board meets at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month in the training room at the district’s Hebron headquarters (111 Basin St., Hebron). The board has expressly waived any compensation for board members for the calendar year 2021. The open position is for a term running through December 31, 2022.

Letters/emails of interest should include a brief resume and explain how the candidate would help the district achieve its objective of reducing response times throughout the district and improving fire protection and emergency medical services in the district.
